Engyodontium album endocarditis.
This is the first reported case of native valve endocarditis caused by Engyodontium album. This fungus, rarely seen as a human pathogen, is separated from Tritirachium species by its lack of pigmentation and from Beauveria species by the presence of conidiogenous cells in whorls.
متن کاملThe complete mitochondrial genome of Engyodontium album and comparative analyses with Ascomycota mitogenomes
Engyodontium album is a widespread pathogen that causes different kinds of dermatoses and respiratory tract diseases in humans and animals. In spite of its perniciousness, the basic genetic and molecular background of this species remains poorly understood. In this study, the mitochondrial genome sequence of E. album was determined using a high-throughput sequencing platform. The circular mitog...
متن کاملCytotoxic Polyketides from the Deep-Sea-Derived Fungus Engyodontium album DFFSCS021
Eight new chromones, engyodontiumones A-H (1-8), and three new phenol derivatives (9-11) together with eight known polyketides (12-19) were isolated from the deep-sea-derived fungus Engyodontium album DFFSCS021. Their structures were identified by extensive spectroscopic analysis. Compounds 8 and 16 showed significant selective cytotoxicity against human histiocytic lymphoma U937 cell line with...

متن کاملOmodysplasia: the first reported Brazilian case.
Omodysplasia, a heterogeneous osteochondrodysplasia, was first observed by Barrow and Fitzsimmons (1984), but better delineated and named by Maroteaux et al. (1989). It was only in 1991, with Borochowitz et al., that two forms were recognized: autosomal dominant and recessive. Recently, Elçioglu (2004) studied five cases of recessive Omodysplasia and made an excellent review of the literature b...
